Vaughanology (was going to be called Vaughanography, but that was vetoed early on) is a place for the Vaughans to chat. Don't understand what happens here? That's because we speak a special language that only Vaughans understand.

Mandrea are moving

Or should that be "is moving"? Hmm. Anyway, we found a lovely new house to live in. Rent prices have come down so much that our current place has been downgraded from "a pretty good deal" to "approaching daylight robbery". We spent two days looking at various places and eventually came up with a 3 bed semi detached house, with massive rooms and a garden, in a quiet area, with cheaper council tax, completely renovated a few weeks ago, for £50 less than we're paying now. Go figure.

The new address is 62 Limbury Road, Luton, LU3 2PL.

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, DRIVING through the glen!

Matt just passed his driving test :-) First time, and only 5 minors! Chuffed grins all round.

Snow!

Great film

If anyone feels like a watching a fantastic film, or has a LoveFilm account and doesn't know what to add to it, I'd recommend "Over the Hedge". I watched it in Canada with the Shugarts and it is absolutely hilarious, even by animated film standards. Satirical, cutting, and there's a bit where a hyperactive squirrel drinks Red Bull.

30 seconds of fame

Senor Snow

This is the snowman I made in the back garden of the Shugart residence. Pretty cool, isn't he? Carefully carved out of a huge mound of snow with the back of a spade. He also has a Che Guevara cap on his head, making him a Communist snowman. If there's still snow tomorrow I might make a Senora Snow to keep him company.

Tim, embedding YouTube videos doesn't work.

A new understanding of cold

Andrea and I just shovelled the front drive of the Shugart residence. It's been snowing all day and it's about -8 outside, but with wind chill it feels more like -19. When I first stepped outside the house I thought "Well, that doesn't feel too bad", but a few seconds of just being in temperatures of -19 rapidly disabused me of that idea. The wind whips snow against your cheeks, your fingers start to go numb (despite the gloves), and after a rather pathetic ten minutes I scurried back inside. Then the blood started rushing back to my fingertips and that really, really hurt.

I love Wikipedia

One way of passing the time in the absence of your wife is to look up random things on Wikipedia. Some of the WW2-themed things I have learned recently:
